Rift

You are Dr. Voss, famous astronaut and xenobiologist on a quest to retrieve the secret of the alien tombs of Mars!

Make your way through the twisting catacombs to collect treasures and find the keys to open doorways that unlock the exit.

Along the way you must use your laser gun to fend off the attacks of the creatures that defend the tomb from looters.

Do you have the skills to complete the level and add your name to the list of Great Explorers?

This game was made in a week for The Field of Frames Game Jam.

Theme

The theme of the game jam was "Out of Frame". This game ties into the theme by having the final destination off-screen as players must navigate toward an unseen goal. Backtracking for keys adds to the off-screen interaction, encouraging exploration beyond the visible frame. The "Out of Frame" space becomes the source of mystery and potential danger.

How to Play

• WASD keys to move up, left, down, and right
• Left mouse button to fire your laser in the direction you're facing
• Space to open doors (display will show E)

Tips

• You can only carry one key at a time and the door will require multiple keys to open
• You can only fire left and right so watch for enemies above and below!
• A simple touch from the enemy can kill you so stay away from anything!
• You have unlimited shots so don't be afraid to us them.
